The Week by the hand of Manuel Pedro Seone as the managing director of  WOR 60 and Triente, Antonio Viejo Puga who’s director of institutional relations of Hijos de Rivera and Juan Díaz Arnau, now a day, managing director of NG Bank. Also is supported by the port authority of Vigo with its president, Julio Pedrosa de Vicente, the Concello de Vigo and the Xunta de Galicia.

The first editions started forcefully.

The project is support by different organizations and individuals among which is the double olimpic medal of sailing Theresa Zabell, to this, in addition sponsors like Mapfre, Audasa and Adeslas and this is when, at the third edition, Caixanova becomes  the best of the week. The big project presents at halls of Real Club Naútico of  Vigo with the slogan ‘ THOUSAND OF SAILS IN THE RIA OF VIGO’!

Youth, sport and culture is the motto from 2004.

In the fourth edition the President of AECIO Paco Coro and the entrepreneur of Vigo Alberto Durán they bring up to take part a the number one worldwide of children’s sailing and creates the Meeting International Pescanova of Optimist, which the galician multinational power since the first moment.

The Kaiser, Julien Autenrriech from Bayern de Munich Yacht Club, marked an era: first he won the Meeting Pescanova and then the world Cup in Optimist

Since that moment, the Atlantic week take off and enhance further with the presence of personalities of sailing like Dennis Conner, the realization of cultural acts, such as the exposure Snipe or actions as the arrival of trains with students at Naútico. At this time, in the week, they take part already, more than 1.000 boats with 15 countries.

It happens editions, where the week gathers the world cup of Platú 25 with 93 boats sailing or the Meeting Pescanova, wining, that year by Julián Autenriech who has got 413 optimist in the sea. Because of that, the Xunta gives to the Atlantic Week the name of ‘ strategic event nº1 in sports of Galicia. The award is received by Manuel Seoane. Actually, this trophy is in the showcases of NG Bank.

The Estrella Galicia World Cup of Platú 25, made history with, nearly, 100 boats competing in more than twenty countries on three continents.
